Sly Samsung there! On Tuesday which happened to be the 5th of January, the same period of time that Samsung unveiled its ultra-thin Notebook 9 Windows laptops, the Korean electronics maker without much ado has made announcements as to the introduction of the Samsung Chromebook 3, this of course is its latest notebook operating Google’s free operating system.
Samsung's 11-Inch Chromebook 3
The Samsung Chromebook 3 has very similar specifications to those presented by the Lenovo 100S Chromebook, which we I had reviewed earlier on. And just like the Lenovo, the Samsung features revolves about an 11.6-inch screen with a 1366 x 768-pixel resolution.
Samsung's 11-Inch Chromebook 3
With a measurement of 11.36 x 8.04 x 0.70 inches, the Samsung is simply a tad smaller than the Lenovo; at 2.53 pounds, not any much heavier. The aforementioned machines work on Intel Celeron CPUs — the Samsung on the N3050 chip, the Lenovo on the N2840.
Samsung is strong on its promise that the Chromebook 3 will last any user up to 11 hours of battery life which off course is on full charge, but then it has not made a release as to the size of the battery. In course of our test, the Lenovo 100S Chromebook was up for 11 hours and 19 minutes.
In similarity to the Lenovo, the Samsung begins with a 16GB SSD and 2GB of RAM, and if you choose, you could possibly increase it to be increased to 4GB. (But more practically, I didn’t seem to be an option to add to the Samsung’s storage capacity.)
The two machines sport one of each type of necessary port: USB 3.0, USB 2.0, HDMI and headphone/microphone. But then in the case when the Lenovo 100S Chromebook has a full-sized SD card slot, the Samsung Chromebook 3 on the other end shrinks that to a microSD slot.
But then one thing Samsung didn’t make a disclosure about as regards the Chromebook 3 was its price. One possible reason could be traced to its predecessor, the Samsung Chromebook 2, which still bears a suggested retail price of $249, the Lenovo 100S Chromebook retails for $179, and the similarly specced Acer C720 Chromebook goes on for a sale at $199.
Samsung announced that the Chromebook 3 will be on for sale “in early 2016.”
