You all can now enjoy end-to-end encryption on Facebook Messenger; how it works

<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
Just some months ago, Facebook began working around encryption; testing its indigenous end-to-end encryption in Messenger. Facebook recorded measurable success in the additional opt-in security feature as such Facebook is now extending it live to all its 1 billion users on board the social network.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<a data-wpel-link="internal" href="http://cdn1.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/image-21.jpg" style="color: #ed702b; text-decoration: none;"><img alt="You all can now enjoy end-to-end encryption on Facebook Messenger; how it works " class="alignnone size-large wp-image-19242" height="576" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" src="http://cdn3.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/image-21-1024x576.jpg" srcset="http://cdn.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/image-21-1024x576.jpg 1024w, http://cdn.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/image-21-300x169.jpg 300w, http://cdn.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/image-21-768x432.jpg 768w" style="border: none; display: inline; height: auto; margin: 0px 0px 10px; max-width: 100%;" width="1024" /></a></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
In similarity to WhatsApp, another IM company which is already offering the feature, Messenger employs the services of Signal Protocol designed by Open Whisper Systems. So as to enter into an end-to-end encrypted chat with any one you intend chatting with, you will have to start what Facebook terms Secret Conversation with that very individual you intend chatting with. You can reach this option by pressing the name of the person in any normal conversation.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<a data-wpel-link="internal" href="http://cdn.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/image-22.jpg" style="color: #ed702b; text-decoration: none;"><img alt="You all can now enjoy end-to-end encryption on Facebook Messenger; how it works " class="alignnone size-full wp-image-19243" height="486" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" src="http://cdn.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/image-22.jpg" srcset="http://cdn.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/image-22.jpg 728w, http://cdn.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/image-22-300x200.jpg 300w" style="border: none; display: inline; height: auto; margin: 0px 0px 10px; max-width: 100%;" width="728" /></a></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
Basically, the Secret Conversation is very much different from any other communication holding between the chat parties. In more details, this feature is only available from a single device as such you will not be able to sync it across your clients. According to Facebook, this is a strict necessity to protect the cryptographic security of the messages which Facebook asserts itself can’t even supervise or access.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
When you are in a Secret Conversation, you will loss the ability to send videos and GIFs. Although sharing pictures still retains its functionality as well as stickers. There is an additional spice here, you have the option of also setting a self-destruct timer on your messages, whose duration can be between five seconds to 24 hours.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
As we have already said, this end-to-end encryption is now within the reach of every of user of Messenger. Yet it is optional and to enjoy this feature, you need the most recent version of the Messenger app.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
Although many of us here would simply prefer keeping with our normal unprotected communication medium. But, then the awareness that you have the safety net of such encrypted security is one added layer of confidence.</div>

Twitter is finally paying its best users to create videos

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">In the tech world, envy is a virtue; jealousy is inspiration! Covetousness is a mental whip to keep you up pulling the cart of your ambitions to reality. The big tech companies we know in the world need as much envy among themselves as each needs engineers. There is regular Olympics in the Silicon valley, and the moment Facebook gets too satisfied with itself; it will surely see the Usain Bolt side of Twitter. Hence copying and competition.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><img alt="Twitter is finally paying its best users to create videos" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-18797" height="357" src="http://cdn1.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/olu-1-1024x915.jpg" style="border: none; display: inline; height: auto; margin: 0px 0px 10px; max-width: 100%;" width="400" /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">And it is in this virtuous spirit of envy that Twitter is copying YouTube fervently: This time, Twitter will be selling ads alongside creator videos and as well as sharing the ad revenue with the very individuals responsible for the creation of the content. I would admit the terms Twitter is offering are pretty juicy.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Quite in contrast to YouTube, which we know to dole 55% of the money to creators and then chuck the remaining 45% in their pocket, Twitter will be using the same revenue split it as of now offering other Amplify video partners. This arrangement from Twitter gives 70% to the content creator and then retains 30%.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Certainly, the offer from twitter needs to be this attractive to appeal to us. No doubt Twitter is yet to ascend the heights of YouTube and even Facebook as to video solution, and actually time had almost ran out on Twitter to come into the game with Youtube and Facebook having built a fortress here. So even in face of this very attractive offer, we can’t say for sure if Twitter will be able to appeal judiciously to creators as well as viewers who already strong fans of Youtube and Facebook.</span></div>

Facebook Mistakenly Declares the Philippines at war

<strong><em><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">What will you do if Facebook was to declare Nigeria was at war?</span></em></strong></div>
<div style="font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">In the festive celebration of the Independence Day in the Philippines this year, Facebook made a very crucial error when it created an incorrect banner (which also dispersed the wrong signals) for users to share across the <a href="http://info-naira.blogspot.com/search/label/SocialMedia">social network</a>. As said it was most unfortunate that the design of the banner was not only incorrect, it was symbolically ominous as it gave an indication that the country was at war.</span></div>
<div style="font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<a href="http://cdn4.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/image-39.jpg" style="color: #ed702b; text-decoration: none;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><img alt="Facebook's wrong Philippine flag" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-18085" height="683" src="http://cdn3.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/image-39-1024x683.jpg" style="border: none; display: inline; height: auto; margin: 0px 0px 10px; max-width: 100%;" width="700" /></span></a></div>
<div style="font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Going by reports, Facebook’s celebratory graphic presented an image of the Philippine flag but this time, it carried an inverted color scheme — such that it was blue on the bottom and red on top. In accordance o the law of the Philippines, the flag should only be displayed in that inverted manner during in periods of war. When the nation is lavishing in peace, it’s flown with blue on top and red on bottom which is obviously the other way round.</span></div>
<div style="font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Facebook Users had greeted with the banner at the top of their News Feeds on Sunday, with very quick and even harsh reactions coming from Philippine users.</span></div>
<div style="font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Facebook soon came to the reality of the mistake, following their official remorse with an apology. “This was unintentional, and we’re sorry,” the company said in a statement to The Philippine Star. “We care deeply about the community in the Philippines and, in an attempt to connect people on Independence Day, we made a mistake.”</span></div>

<div style="margin-bottom: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Facebook is working on a feature that fans of the social networking site have been requesting for years: a “dislike” button. Mark Zuckerberg made the admission during a recent “town hall” meeting at its Menlo Park headquarters accord to multiple reports.</span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><img alt="Facebook gives in, will soon add a form of _dislike_ button - TechSpot-1" class=" size-medium wp-image-1665 aligncenter" height="200" src="http://i2.wp.com/www.campuslife.uniport.edu.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Facebook-gives-in-will-soon-add-a-form-of-_dislike_-button-TechSpot-1.png?resize=300%2C200" style="border: 0px; color: #cc0000; display: block; height: auto; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; max-width: 100%; text-align: center;" width="300" /></span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The social networking giant has up to this point been reluctant to add a “dislike” button and for good reason. “People can be Irrational”…sometimes. Services like Facebook are one of the few places to turn for kind, encouraging commentary. Sure, Facebook is full of people that dislike their “friends” and get annoyed at times by what they say but generally, it’s a much more positive atmosphere due largely to its intimate nature. </span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The traditional “like” button simply isn’t suitable for every status update. If your best friend’s mother dies, for example, do you “like” that update? Of course not, as that would imply you’re happy she’s gone. Scenarios such as this are where a “dislike” button would be desirable. Zuckerberg said his team is close to unveiling the new feature and that it’s been surprisingly complicated to make an interaction that will be simple. Another issue with the dislike button is as it sounds ” a dislike button” to show your dislike towards things. Say someone posts something “irrational” or something you do not like it would be normal to dislike it. For one this can show your true feelings towards posts.</span></div>
