Just some months ago, Facebook began working around encryption; testing its indigenous end-to-end encryption in Messenger. Facebook recorded measurable success in the additional opt-in security feature as such Facebook is now extending it live to all its 1 billion users on board the social network.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">

<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
In similarity to WhatsApp, another IM company which is already offering the feature, Messenger employs the services of Signal Protocol designed by Open Whisper Systems. So as to enter into an end-to-end encrypted chat with any one you intend chatting with, you will have to start what Facebook terms Secret Conversation with that very individual you intend chatting with. You can reach this option by pressing the name of the person in any normal conversation.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<a data-wpel-link="internal" href="http://cdn.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/image-22.jpg" style="color: #ed702b; text-decoration: none;"><img alt="You all can now enjoy end-to-end encryption on Facebook Messenger; how it works " class="alignnone size-full wp-image-19243" height="486" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" src="http://cdn.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/image-22.jpg" srcset="http://cdn.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/image-22.jpg 728w, http://cdn.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/image-22-300x200.jpg 300w" style="border: none; display: inline; height: auto; margin: 0px 0px 10px; max-width: 100%;" width="728" /></a></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
Basically, the Secret Conversation is very much different from any other communication holding between the chat parties. In more details, this feature is only available from a single device as such you will not be able to sync it across your clients. According to Facebook, this is a strict necessity to protect the cryptographic security of the messages which Facebook asserts itself can’t even supervise or access.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
When you are in a Secret Conversation, you will loss the ability to send videos and GIFs. Although sharing pictures still retains its functionality as well as stickers. There is an additional spice here, you have the option of also setting a self-destruct timer on your messages, whose duration can be between five seconds to 24 hours.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
As we have already said, this end-to-end encryption is now within the reach of every of user of Messenger. Yet it is optional and to enjoy this feature, you need the most recent version of the Messenger app.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
Although many of us here would simply prefer keeping with our normal unprotected communication medium. But, then the awareness that you have the safety net of such encrypted security is one added layer of confidence.</div>

Facebook will soon display ads whether you have Adblock or not

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">In the days of John Baptist, the kingdom of God suffer violence and the violent take it by force. This is the new mantra of the newly decorated “Colonel” Mark Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg now feels he can rule Facebook better on a “khaki” than he does on suit; hence the new military policies Facebook is adopting. Could this be some US Abacha?</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<a data-wpel-link="internal" href="http://cdn3.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/image-25.jpg" style="color: #ed702b; text-decoration: none;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><img alt="Facebook will soon display ads even if you have adblock " class="alignnone size-large wp-image-18567" height="576" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" src="http://cdn2.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/image-25-1024x576.jpg" srcset="http://cdn1.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/image-25-1024x576.jpg 1024w, http://cdn1.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/image-25-300x169.jpg 300w, http://cdn1.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/image-25-768x432.jpg 768w, http://cdn1.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/image-25.jpg 1600w" style="border: none; display: inline; height: auto; margin: 0px 0px 10px; max-width: 100%;" width="1024" /></span></a></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The fear is looming that Facebook will soon be no longer democratic people! Facebook now plans to force ads on us whether you have adblockers or not. Via means of a blogpost, Facebook explains that ads are very important for its existence and that, all thing being brought to mind, they aren’t that terrible.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">But in measure to polish this desperado approach, Facebook is depending on its users to kind of personally trim the ad experience. The way Facebook plans to do this is that those with an account could make their ad preferences making a choice of their interests and deciding the genre of ads they would want to see.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">In Facebook’s words:</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">We’ve designed our ad formats, ad performance and controls to address the underlying reasons people have turned to ad blocking software. When we asked people about why they used ad blocking software, the primary reason we heard was to stop annoying, disruptive ads.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">As we offer people more powerful controls, we’ll also begin showing ads on Facebook desktop for people who currently use ad blocking software.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Although for now, the company hasn’t said when this change would be swinging into action, we suspect this new move of bypassing adblocking software will swing into full force in no time.</span></div>

Facebook Messenger is Checking ‘Disappearing’ Messages Features

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
Facebook Messenger is experimenting with self-destructing messages. At present available for some Android as well as iOS users in France, and would be surely be coming to our country naija soonest if successful as I gathered.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
Now what is this particularly about? Well,the feature gives people the opportunity to send messages that kind of disappear in an hour.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
<a href="http://cdn4.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/image53.jpg" style="color: #ed702b; text-decoration: none;"><img alt="facebook disappearing message" class="alignnone wp-image-15236 size-full" height="492" src="http://cdn4.justnaira.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/image53.jpg" style="border: none; display: inline; height: auto; margin: 0px 0px 10px; max-width: 100%;" width="738" /></a></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
Via means of a press statement, Facebook revealed that “Disappearing messages gives people another fun option to choose from when they communicate on Messenger.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
We look forward to hearing people’s feedback as they give it a try.” Users will have the ability to turn on disappearing messages in a chat when they tap on an hourglass icon appearing right at the top right of their screen. Anyone else in the conversation thread can turn the feature off.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
While this format of messages lasting for a short interval, may bring in some competitive advantages to Messenger, which claims 700 million users directly against Snapchat (an app which Facebook had a time attempted to acquire for a staggering amount of $3 billion), a lot of top messaging apps have already brought in such related features.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
An instance here is Line, which boasts 211 million users, had of late introduced “Hidden Chats,” or encrypted messages that vanish within a determined interval of time.</div>

Also WeChat, the most famed messaging app in China with over half a billion users, has given people the opportunity to withdraw messages since 2014.</div>

The biggest attraction here of such ephemeral messages, nonetheless, in Facebook Messenger exceeds just sending delicate information, disappearing messages add a bigger experience of real-life conversations, an experience Messenger seeks to reproduce with features like read receipts as well as its quick selfie cam.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
This will not be Facebook’s debut as regards experimenting with ephemeral messaging. Back In December 2012, at the same time as Snapchat was just taking off, Facebook embarked on the launch of Poke, a similar service that sent self-destructing photos and videos but it didn’t really survive.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px;">
Well, I am expectant keeping my hands crossed this time as there is larger chances of it surviving as this feature is already thriving on Snapchat.</div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Facebook is working on a feature that fans of the social networking site have been requesting for years: a “dislike” button. Mark Zuckerberg made the admission during a recent “town hall” meeting at its Menlo Park headquarters accord to multiple reports.</span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><img alt="Facebook gives in, will soon add a form of _dislike_ button - TechSpot-1" class=" size-medium wp-image-1665 aligncenter" height="200" src="http://i2.wp.com/www.campuslife.uniport.edu.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Facebook-gives-in-will-soon-add-a-form-of-_dislike_-button-TechSpot-1.png?resize=300%2C200" style="border: 0px; color: #cc0000; display: block; height: auto; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; max-width: 100%; text-align: center;" width="300" /></span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The social networking giant has up to this point been reluctant to add a “dislike” button and for good reason. “People can be Irrational”…sometimes. Services like Facebook are one of the few places to turn for kind, encouraging commentary. Sure, Facebook is full of people that dislike their “friends” and get annoyed at times by what they say but generally, it’s a much more positive atmosphere due largely to its intimate nature. </span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The traditional “like” button simply isn’t suitable for every status update. If your best friend’s mother dies, for example, do you “like” that update? Of course not, as that would imply you’re happy she’s gone. Scenarios such as this are where a “dislike” button would be desirable. Zuckerberg said his team is close to unveiling the new feature and that it’s been surprisingly complicated to make an interaction that will be simple. Another issue with the dislike button is as it sounds ” a dislike button” to show your dislike towards things. Say someone posts something “irrational” or something you do not like it would be normal to dislike it. For one this can show your true feelings towards posts.</span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br />It’ll  be  interesting  to  see  just  how  Facebook  plans  to  walk  that  fine  line  between  empathy and hate. We are sure to know that this would spur much controversy in Nigeria. As a misuse can already be imagined. Imagine you post your picture and get 10 dislike?? Or you make a post about your “new found boo” only to get numerous dislikes. </span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">This new feature would bring along it a sweet and sour feeling of fun and controversy with it, and That we cannot wait to see.</span></div>
