Following the recently introduced centralized biometric Identification system launched by the Central Bank of Nigeria, tagged “Bank Verification Number”, it has become compulsory for all customers to have their personal details secured with the use of this verification number to avoid security breaches.
The BVN gives each Bank customer a unique identity across the Nigerian Banking industry that can be used for easy identification and verification at Point of Banking operations.

You can now link your Bank Verification Number details from another Nigerian bank to your existing accounts in other banks without having to visit the bank.
To link your Bank Verification Number details to your existing accounts, follow the procedures outlined below.
Currently, we only have the method for GTBank, First Bank, Zenith Bank, Diamond Bank, Keystone Bank, United Bank for Africa and Access.
BVN Linking: GTBank.
You can make use of any of GTBanks’ ATMs nationwide, Internet Banking platform or visit the BVN linking portal on GTBank website to complete your request @ https://gtmt.gtbank.com/BVNLinker/start.aspx
BVN Linking: First Bank.
Text BVN#Account Number#BVN Code to 0807 666 4444.
BVN Linking: Zenith Bank.
Log in to your internet banking page and follow the given instructions for linking.
BVN Linking: Diamond Bank.
Simply send your BVN to enquiries@diamondbank.com or an SMS to 30811.
BVN Linking: Keystone Bank.
Log in to your internet banking page and follow the given instructions for linking.
BVN Linking: United Bank for Africa.
Send your BVN (with the phone line you used to open the account) to short code number *919*6#
BVN Linking: Access Bank.
Text your BVN and account number to 20121 or fill out this online form.
The CBN has ordered that with effect from November 1, 2015 there be a restriction on ATM use, Internet Banking access and use of alternative channels for customers WHO HAVEN’T COMPLETED THEIR BVN REGISTRATION.
